Scholarship requirements
The foundation’s scholarships are intended to assist needy, talented, young Arab Christians from the Middle East. According to the foundation’s statutes, students must be
- majoring in Egyptology, Coptology or archaeology, or
- pursuing an academic profession that will serve the development of their home countries or for which is a need expected in the near future, or
- Acquire partial or additional school or vocational training outside of the Middle East, whereby you should generally be willing to return home to practice the profession.
The profession may not be related to the military.
The study can be both in your home country and abroad. Bachelor's and Master's degree programs are supported, but you have to submitted a separate application for each degree.
Decisions regarding the awarding of the scholarships are made in semi-annual meetings held by the board of trustees, which consists of five members. The strength of an applicant’s statement, the correctness of the application and compliance with the statutory conditions determine whether an application is accepted or rejected.
Duration of scholarships:
Scholarships are granted until recipients complete their course of studies, taking into account the standard length of the course. Extension applications must be submitted annually. There is a regular review of performance and progress in the study – for this, recipients must submit personal study reports, performance records and proof of ongoing enrolment.
If the performance do not meet the requirements of the scholarship, the scholarship may be terminated early.
Amounts granted:
When studying in Europe: € 950.00 per month
When studying in the Middle East: € 750.00 per month
Application requirements:
- fulfilment of the statutory requirements
- completely and properly filled out application documents including the mandatory documents
- secondary school diploma
- enrollment at the university
